Beach Bound

Beachbound_nologo_970

In the olden days, when I was in the fashion industry, we called the pre-spring deliveries of linen dresses and breezy coverups, “Cruise.” It had such a hopeful ring, as if come February we’d all be heading out on some glamorous yacht. Nowadays, I think the collections are called “Resort.”  Still hopeful, and here’s hoping that you’re getting away this month or next, and will come home just in time for warm weather. Here are a few of our favorite picks for the beach.

Clockwise from top left:

I’ve been a fan of Connecticut-based See Designs since a friend turned me on to their lightweight Kurtas. For those of us who like to take long walks on the beach and don’t want to leave our valuables behind, this backpack is the ticket. $70 E-list readers receive 25% off backpack with ELISTBEACH code used at checkout.

Kate Somerville is my new crush. Aesthetician to the stars, her line of beauty products and sun care has multiple benefits. This sunscreen gives you a bit of a glow, while delivering vitamin E and UVA/UVB protection. $45

Local beach bag company, East Wharf, fashions their classics out of sail cloth with nautical motifs. $125

These Old Navy espadrilles are smack on trend and a steal at $23.94.

Mara Hoffman, famous for printed swimwear, is lending her eagle design eye to beach towels. $78

My grandmother used to whip up little beach dresses exactly like this one from Madewell. $88

Roberta Roller Rabbit’s printed sunhats are packable, smoothable and eminently wearable! $60

I’ve been on the hunt for a perfectly round pair of shades that are progressive-lense worthy. Think I found them: Leith Glasses. $34
