Farmer’s Markets, Finally!

logo

Many of us on the Shoreline are used to making the trek for good food, hitting Bishop’s Orchards, Foodworks, the Local Beet or Whole Foods (the BIG schlep). Sure, I shop the local grocery stores too, but by this time of year, I’m sick to death of picking over disappointing produce and meats past their prime. The start of Farmer’s Market season means party time at my house with summer food to look forward to: piles of grilled veggies, Stonington shrimp and a simple crisp for dessert. (Click here for the recipe). Here’s the schedule for several local markets open this weekend:

Lyme Farmer’s Market, 78 Bill Hill Road: opens this Friday, 3 – 6 and Saturday 9:30 – 1 (pictured)

Madison Farmer’s Market on the Madison Green: Fridays, 3 – 6

Chester Sunday Market: downtown Chester: Sunday, 10 – 1

Summer Market at Dudley Farm in Guilford: Saturday, 9 – 12:30
