Cafe Flo

This is one of the best kept Shoreline secrets, and it shouldn’t be. On Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays, head to the Florence Griswold Museum and enjoy lunch or a picnic prepared by Gourmet Galley. If the weather isn’t cooperating, eat in the historic Landscape Center, but if it is, grab your lunch, a basket and blanket (provided) and traipse down to the banks of the river.
This year, Gourmet Galley is offering a fresh and healthy menu of salads, sandwiches and $4 options for kids. My cod cake, dressed with a mango remoulade and served with a crusty chunk of baguette was enough for two at $12. Click here for the menu.
p.s. and while you’re there, the new exhibit is a must see: American Landscapes, Treasures from the Parrish Art Museum (including a rare painting of the Old Lyme Congregational Church by Childe Hassam).
