Maynard Greenhouse

I can’t help but write about Maynard’s (again) because it’s such a special little place and only open for a month every year. It’s a bit like crawling into Carol Maynard’s frenetic brain and best described by words that I seldom use like festoon, bedizen and garland. This year, she’s stocked with wrapping paper that’s pretty enough to frame, tiny tubes of real glass glitter, boxes of vintage icicles and her usual vast assortment of sparkly ornaments and yard upon yard of silk, damask, velvet and French wired ribbon. It’s a one stop trimming shop, too, as you’ll find every size of wreath and tree and all manner of roping out front. Gretchen Mann decorated my Maynard’s wreath with ostrich feathers, pine cones and burlap, and she can do yours, too. Call her at 860.434.3883.
