Clad In

If you’ve ever set foot in a CLAD IN store, you know there’s an experienced buyer behind the scenes. Racks of perfectly organized, carefully selected, architectural silhouettes in silk, linen and cotton line the store’s clean, white background – a featured scarf or bag highlighted in between. And the shoes? Each pair is showcased as if it were sculpture. With a focus on hard-to-find European brands and comfortable lasts, we think it’s one of the best shoe destinations on the Shoreline. Visit in July and ogle their latest art installation: giclee prints of Block Isand by artist Sandra Swan.

Espadrilles at Clad In

Racks at Clad In

Clad In is known for their stable of international designers that favor architectural silhouettes and an unconventional look. For me, it’s a good spot to find that immaculate white shirt with unusual detailing or a fluffy cashmere crew with a surprise bit of pleating at the back. When Clad Indipped their toe in footwear, I knew something good would be in store. In a season flooded with great boots, they’ve got their share. I loved these two: a low heeled, rounded toe, rubber-soled spat ($249 by Everybody) that could be slipped on with skinny jeans or dressed up with tights and a pencil skirt.
My clog obsession would be sated with this bootie by Emu ($179) cozied up with a shearling lining. Head to their Anniversary Sale this weekend (9/28 – 9/30) and take $25 off any pair and 10% off fall clothing. UK designer Ray Harris will be in the house, unveiling his fall collection and special occasion dresses.
