A Beauty Spot Hits The Mark: Blue Mercury
by Leslie Singer
Glad to say my first world problem of finding badge brand cosmetics on the Shoreline is over. Blue Mercury on Broadway is a welcome addition to Elm City’s shopping boom. It has all the Bobby Brown, Trish McEvoy, Laura Mercier, Nars, La Mer, Keihl’s, Jo Malone, Hourglass (and that’s the short list) you can handle. Think of it as Bloomingdale’s main floor without the mayhem. You’ll find all kinds of fabulousness such Multiple by Nars: a sumptuously creamy multipurpose stick used for highlighting, contouring and some glam-on-the-go color. And speaking of color; throughout the store, this season’s collections were focused on classic bronzey tones accented with bold reds, oranges, and pinks for cheeks and lips. So get your color on, ladies! And men, Blue Mercury offers plenty of deliciousness from Tom Ford, Clinique, Molton Brown and others. Shop on a Saturday, and you’ll choose your luxe samples with every $100 purchase.

Here is Erica’s list of favorites at Blue Mercury (above; clockwise from left):
m-61 Power Glow Peel: Full disclosure, they gave me a few testers of this one-minute exfoliator and I love it. Glycolic and salicylic acid in a towelette gently exfoliates and leaves skin feeling radiant. In One Minute.
Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer: A moisturizing concealer that hides everything from redness to dark circles.
Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer: I’ve been a fan of Laura’s tinted moisturizer for a bit of coverage for years, but the illuminating version is just that much better.
RMS Beauty Magic Luminizer: An organic pot of shine to dab on everywhere for a bit of youthful shimmer.
Park Ave Blow Out Balm: Even short hair like mine needs a bit of hold and shine.
Fresh Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment: I don’t go a winter without this: the best creamy lip balm with a hint of color
La Mer: yes the price is silly, but it’s the only thing that prevents my skin from cracking in the winter (and a little goes a very long way; a jar lasts me at least a year).
