From Summer Art Camp at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum

The museum’s hands-on art camps, designed for aspiring artists ages 5-11, provide a wonderful opportunity for children to learn new artistic techniques, explore the museum’s collections and go behind-the-scenes in a museum. In addition to completing weekly themed projects, participants will also paint outside in the museum’s garden, design their own portfolio and tour special exhibitions. For reservations, please call: 860-443-2545 x110 or email The museum is located at 625 Williams Street in New London, CT.

Camp sessions for children ages 8-11: these sessions run Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm and the cost is: $210 members/$250 non-members. Before and after care from 8-9am and 4-5pm is also available for an additional $20 per hour, per day. Campers should bring their own lunches. Sessions: 

 July 8-July 12: Secrets of the Pharaohs: Fun with Egyptian Art

• July 22-26: Explore Pop Art: Painting, Printing and Collage

• August 12-16:  Lionfish: Art of the Underwater World

Camp sessions for children ages 5-7: these half-day sessions run Monday-Friday, 9am-12pm and the cost is: $130 members/$155 non-members. Daily snack and beverage provided. Sessions: 

July 15-19: Pop Goes the Easel: Fun with Pop Art

August 5-9: Undersea Fantasy: Art of the Underwater World
