Summer Tennis Programs for Kids at Lyme Shores
This summer, treat your kids to tennis! Lyme Shores Tennis & Conditioning Center offers two summer tennis programs for kids starting June 24, 2013.
University of Tennis Junior Program
The University of Tennis Junior Program is for kids ages 5-16. Sessions run Monday through Friday from 9am – 4pm (full day) or 9am – 12pm (half day). Each day, kids participate in drills that improve their tennis strokes, develop good footwork, and teach smart game play strategy. Kids also get the chance to engage in healthy competition throughout the program, with most sessions culminating in an inter-club tournament on Friday.
For full day students, lunch is provided (pizza, grinders, or burgers) in the outdoor patio and gazebo area. When kids finish eating, they can take a refreshing dip in the pool before returning to more tennis instruction.
High Performance Tennis Program
Lyme Shores offers a High Performance Tennis Program for select elite high school and USTA nationally-ranked players. The program runs Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 4pm.
The main focus of the High Performance program is competition, with an emphasis on mental toughness, shot selection, strategy, fitness, training routines, and practice. Instruction is also geared toward improving students’ weaknesses. Practice matches are a major part of the daily routine. Travel matches are played weekly and participation in USTA/NE matches occurs when possible.

About Lyme Shores Tennis & Conditioning Center
Located at 22 Colton Road in East Lyme, CT, Lyme Shores Tennis & Conditioning Center houses six indoor and three outdoor tennis courts, an outdoor pool, and two floors of fitness equipment. Tennis lessons, clinics, leagues, and fitness classes are offered year-round, and swimming lessons are offered in the summer. Club hours are:
Monday – Friday: 6 am – 10 pm
Saturday: 8 am – 7 pm
Sunday: 8am – 8:30 pm
